Hola! Qi Launches Festivities in Spain

The QI-IBF World Badminton Championships 2006 commenced on Monday, 18 th September, at the Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid, a beautifully designed new stadium at the heart of Spain’s capital city.

Gala Dinner Opens QI IBF World Championships

On the previous evening, an opening dinner took place at the nearby Convencion Hotel. This event was attended by JR Mayer, QuestNet Executive Director; JK Steffen, QVI Managing Director; Pathman Senathirajah, Executive Director of the V; plus Dato’ and Datin Seri Kamal M Hashim, Chairman of Wawasan Qi Holdings. Introductory speeches by various dignitaries ended with Punch Gunalan, Deputy President of the IBF, giving an expression of thanks for QI’s title sponsorship of the event. With the presentations over, 400 badminton players launched themselves into the buffet to ensure they ate enough food in preparation for the first round of games. Learn More
